Working with ELL Students

I will begin working with ELL students next week, sound like fun. I have already met three of the students and have done some activities with them. They are great kids, so eager to learn and love attention! We played hangman with their spelling words and even worked a little on math. We even began a research paper on where chocolate comes from! I look forward to hearing them present to the class. They all work so hard and really want to be there, very exciting to watch them learn and grow!

Finished my Web Page Today!

Today was an exciting day as my Web Page is officially finished, YES!!! It looks as though I am not quite as dumb as I thought with technology, just took a few repetitions and I figured it out! Now on to Garage Band, not sure what that is or how it works, we'll see if I can figure that out next class.

Had a great evening with my boys, such beautiful weather to be outside! My flowers are blooming, the birds are singing and this semester is almost over! I look forward to some down time with my boys and enjoy the Great Outdoors.

Glogster

The news for the week is that I was able to figure out glogster and I did this one myself. It was really a lot of fun and I showed my 11 year old son how to use it and he loves it! I may even create a few more, who knows!!

Fontenelle Forest

The boys and I had a great hiking experience at Fontenelle today. We saw two snakes rustling around in the leaves right off the trail and a giant beetle on a decaying log! The weather was perfect and we had a great time out in Gods beautiful outdoors. I highly recommend taking a walk off the boardwalk because there is so much to see!

Took the boys to see "How to train a dragon"

My husband and I took our three boys to see "How to Train a Dragon", this was a great kid friendly movie for ages 6 and up. There were a few places where my 6 year old held my hand and once he even jumped, but then so did I. He couldn't wait to see this one and it didn't let him down. My older two even enjoyed it and I heard them laugh out loud several times. It was fun to go see as a family, Pixar didn't disappoint. If you have young ones at home and they like adventure and cute dragons this one should be a hit for you as well! I think we will check this book out at the library, should be a good bedtime read for us all!

Working with the 5th graders

This week was great with the 5th grade class. They were on Skype talking to a 5th grade class in New York City! They were going back and forth reading Dr. Seuss' books for his birthday. It was great to see how excited both classes were to see kids their age in another part of the United States!!!
